Weekend Knits

One of my favorite patterns is this Churchmouse Classics Shoulder Cozy. It’s simple, quick and the finished product is elegant and ready for any season. I can scrunch it up and around my neck under a coat or with a sweater or I can slip it down over my shoulders for added warmth like a shawl. This simple, elegant piece is worked in the round from the bottom up with just a couple of easy decrease rows for shaping. The pattern was written with Rowan Summer Tweed and Kidsilk Haze in mind. The Rowan Summer Tweed is the equivalent of a worsted weight yarn and the Kidsilk Haze is the equivalent of a lace-weight mohair yarn. So there are endless possibilities to making your own combinations and unique creations.

While traveling last year, I found some Kidsilk Haze on clearance at Paradise Fibers in Spokane, Washington and couldn’t pass it up knowing I had this patter stashed away at home. I combined the Loganberry color way along with a skein of Noro Silk Garden (sorry don’t remember the color).

This piece is knit with US Size 13, 24″ circular needles and for this piece I used a set of Knit Picks rosewood needles which I absolutely love. With this pattern especially I can fly along knitting and have it finished in typically a weekend.
